internal state or environment. Health is a practice towards harmonizing and supporting most efficiently, it is not about achieving perfection, slipping into a size 2 or rocking a bikini. There are several factors that contribute and effect our expression of health, including our beliefs, thoughts and feelings.
Here’s the thing… We ALL make the very best decisions we can with what we know and what we’ve been shown or modeled. How do you know what you don’t know right?!
There have been countless occasions where I have witnessed close friends and the ones I love most dearly, even myself, simply doing something because it’s what we were told to do. In reflection there are a thousand and one things I would of or could have done differently but didn’t because 1. I didn’t know any better and 2. There was no one to point me in the direction of knowledge, just a decision. Life is about practicing our way towards knowledge and know-how so we can consciously choose for ourselves what’s in the best support of our future self and I have come to believe that in this age of knowledge, ignorance is now a choice.
I now know so much more than I did and learning has become a non-negotiable daily practice for myself.
I know that our food system is not what our bodies need it to be.
I know that our environment is not what our bodies need it to be.
I know that our societal and global mindset is not what our head and heart need it to be.
I do NOT care…
Who you voted for or where you stand on political beliefs.
Whether you eat meat, only fish or refuse to wear leather.
If you love men, women or BOTH
Who you pray to or if you pray at all…
We ALL have the responsibility to ourselves and ultimately as our contribution to our national society and global community, to be in or strive towards our best health in body, mind and spirit. To take complete ownership for our behaviors, actions, thoughts and feelings and to make our life an ongoing practice of working our way towards an education not a decision.
Optimal health looks and tastes differently for everyone. It requires giving ourselves permission to eat again for joy not requirement. To exercise for the experience, for liberation and for energy not to burn the amount of calories we need in order to eat the cake or drink the wine without feeling guilt. To make peace with ourselves now and stop saying we will love more, be happy or go places WHEN.
Own your life - make choices for yourself, commit to learning not deciding and allow the outward expression of your internal state to be one of the REAL you inside!
